MOTTES
to David Graeber and Carole Roussopoulos.
Mottes is a device of spatialized sound actions.
Two separate groups of instruments improvise in a common space - the performance space - while having a different environment.
This in-between is captured by two microphones connected to magnetic recorders manipulated by two musicians whose subjectivity is total. They will broadcast the content on a variable set of loudspeakers and, thus, the audience will perceive the whole and constitute a third Mote.
The proposed experience stimulates, for all the participants without hierarchy, the adaptation to an event whose horizon is constituted by multiple mechanisms.
There is no longer a center or meaning given a priori to what is to be received. In these Mottes, everyone is alone but in constant movement with the other.
